A geological Geographic Information System (GGIS) for the basins of rivers administered by the Water Resource Agency was established and periodically updated in the previous (2004-2010) projects. During 2004-2010, field verification was carried out in eleven river basins (including the Touchien, Fongshan, Jhuoshuei, Dajia, Da-an, Houlong, Jhonggan, Wu, Bajhang, Zengwun, and Gaoping River basins) to confirm and to build up the data sets of geo-hazard, geologic outcrop, aerial-photo interpretation, and geologic interpretation of these basins in the GGIS. The objectives of the 2011 project cover (1) collection of new data, (2) re-examination of the eleven verified river basins, (3) field verification of the DanShui and the Huang River basins, (4) maintenance of GGIS and its user interfaces, and (5) training courses. Field verification and geologic interpretation were carried out for the DanShui and Huang River Basin. After field verification, in DanShui river, confirmed data and photographs at 93 sites of rock outcrop and geologic structures, 21 sites of riverbed situations, 17 sites of geo-hazards, and 45 sites of geologic interpretation were compiled and built into the GGIS system; in Huang River, confirmed data and photographs at 12 sites of rock outcrop and geologic structures, 5 sites of riverbed situations, 2 sites of geo-hazards, and 2 sites of geologic interpretation were compiled and built into the GGIS system.
