Field Verification of Geological Data for the Basins of Rivers Administered by Central Government Zengwun River and Gaoping River
A geological Geographic Information System (GGIS) for the basins of rivers administered by the central government, Taiwan was established for the geological features in 2004-2009 projects. Field verification was also carried out in the Touchien, Fongshan, Jhuoshuei, Dajia, Da-an, Houlong, Jhonggan, Wu, and Bajhang River basins to confirm and build the data sets of geo-hazard, geologic outcrop, aerial-photo interpretation and geologic interpretation. This project continues the schemes of previous tasks; in addition to the maintenance of GGIS and its user interfaces, field verification of geology along the river channel of Zengwun and Gaoping river basins were carried out to confirm and build up the relevant data sets for these two river basins. This project also repeated the field works and updated the GIS data for those river basins which were carried out in 2004-2009. The total numbers of verification sites of the basin verified in 2004-2009 and verified in Zengwun and Gaoping river basins are 765, which include 116 rock outcrops and geologic structures, 405 sits of riverbed conditions, 202 sites of geo-hazards, and 38 sites of geologic interpretation- The verification results were compiled and built into the GGIS system.
