Simulation of Multi-Physics Behavior in Spent Fuel Disposal
Based on the concept of ASTM-D5334 standard, a model was developed to investigate heat stress in such a composited materials system. A heater was treated as a hypothesis canister; the compacted bentonite was designed as the buffer material; granite rock was keeping the constant temperature. A COMSOL thermal-stress model was developed and calculated. The results showed helpful message for further work on themal-stress experiments design..
