Feitsui Reservoir Sediment Physical Properties Testing
To furnish the calibration of the numerical simulation and the establishment of desilting strategy, this research used the in-situ sediment from Feitsui reservoir to obtain the basic physical properties and sediment settling velocity. Feitsui reservoir sediment is categorized to the medium plastic clay. However, the particle size distribution range is quite wide such that the sediment concentration in shallow is smaller than the initial concentration after settlement, and this caused an unclear interface to distinguish the sediment level. Consequently, the initial settling velocity of Feitsui reservoir sediment is quick, and the rest part of sediment settles slowly as the phenomena of the free particle settlement.
