Study On the Disaster Mitigation Strategies for Landslide Dams
This project aims to develop an analytical approach for study the stability of landslide dams, and propose the disaster mitigation strategies for the dams. The impact of a landslide dam failure on the downstream of a river will also be investigated. This study will be finished in three years. This report summarizes the research results of the first year study. The major results include types of forming landslide dams, recommendation of monitoring systems for the area of a landslide dam , recommendation of disaster mitigation strategy for a landslide dam , GIS construction of landslide dams.
