Comparison Study of Sampling Methods for Grain-Size Distribution of Riverbed Materials
The project aims to present a suitable sampling scheme for river-bed material sampling in Taiwan. To accomplish the goal, the task includes literature reviews related to sampling methods of riverbed material, planning for river-bed material sampling, river-bed material sampling, and discussions of sampling results. Firstly, based on river morphology, riverbed material, and river geology, the Tou-Chien River was divided into 6 sub-streams. The sampling types, locations, and sampling sizes were determined by the basis of the classification. Then, the Fong-Shan River was adopted for river-bed material sampling to verify the approach for river-bed material sampling at the Tou-Chien River. Finally, based on the sampling results, a suitable approach for river-bed material sampling in Taiwan was presented.
